Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Been twenty years since our last trip to DR. We stayed 10 days at the Jewel Palm Beach. Nice resort, good food, great staff and wonderful beach. Glad we went.

Not having gone birding in the DR, we searched the internet for a local guide, and we decided to hire Halle Jackson. We went to Los Haitises National Park, with the hopes of seeing some of Dominican Republics endemics. We saw 42 species of which 17 were lifers (8 DR endemics and 3 Caribbean endemics). a national park and protected zone.)
